Circular Motion and the Cardioid - Ian Porteous

28th February 2004
In this session, four puzzles from the FunMaths Roadshow were used to introduce circular motion. The definitions of cos and sin were examined, and the session then moved onto looking ato equations of graphs given in terms of the radius and angle (usually called \(r\) and \(\theta\)), rather than in terms of cartesian co-ordinates (\(x\) and \(y\)).
