The Modulus Function and some applications - David Lewis

25th January 2003
This presentation looks at the function \(y = |x|\) where \(|x|\) means the absolute value or modulus of the number \(x\). What does the graph of the function look like? What about the graphs of the modulus of other functions, eg. \(y = |x4 - 5x2 + 4|\) ?! There are also some tricky problems which can be made easier by using the modulus function to help solve them.
