Tomography, Sudokus, the Beatles, and a Centuries-Old Problem in Number Theory - Dr Andreas Alpers

What do Sudoku puzzles, The Beatles and a very old (open) problem in number theory have in common? The short answer is that, by mathematics, they are all related to tomography, a medical-imaging technique used in almost every hospital around the world. In this session, we will explore some of these connections, and there will be opportunities to solve Sudokus or, perhaps, even the old open number-theory problem.
