With artificial intelligence becoming ever more, for want of a better word, intelligent, we can at least take comfort in our own creativity, secure, for example, in the fact that no computer-generated bestseller will be hitting the shelves...for now, that is. We'll discuss some of the Maths behind efforts to automatically generate text, meeting abstract chess, the stock market and, potentially, a guaranteed winning strategy for the game of Monopoly along the way.
