Lattice Meets Experiment 2012: Beyond the Standard Model

26—27 October 2012, University of Colorado at Boulder

Travel

The workshop will take place at the University of Colorado at Boulder. All talks will be held in the JILA Auditorium on the south side of the Duane Physics building, 2000 Colorado Ave.

The Denver International Airport (DEN) is the nearest major transport hub. Boulder is about 40 miles northwest of the airport, along either US-36 W or the toll road E-470 N. If you do not rent a car, you can take either the AB bus ($13, exact change required) or SuperShuttle ($27) to Boulder. Organizers will help to connect those who want to carpool with those who have seats available.

The city of Boulder has an extensive local bus system, which costs $2.25 per ride.

On-campus parking is limited. There are a few on-street metered spaces for $1.5/hour, while on Friday the Euclid Ave. AutoPark close to the workshop site costs $1.75/hour for the first three hours, then $3/hour, but only $3 total after 5 PM or on Saturday. To avoid construction and barriers (both with and without attendants), you should enter Euclid Ave. and the Euclid Ave. AutoPark from Broadway.

Daily ($7.75) and weekly ($11.5) parking permits may still be available for the Regent Dr. lot & parking structure at the corner of Colorado Ave. & 28th St., half a mile east of the workshop site. Please let us know in advance if you would like us to reserve a permit for you. Finally, the cheapest option would be to park for free at the 28th St. Mall (north of Arapahoe, about a mile northwest of the workshop site) and either walk or take the Hop bus to the workshop site.

Accommodations

There are several hotels in Boulder that offer reduced rates for CU events. You can see their locations on the map below. We have not reserved blocks of rooms, so while there is no hard deadline to receive these discounted rates, they are subject to availability and we encourage you to make arrangements promptly. The rates below do not include taxes.

Wireless

Wireless internet access is available through the "UCB Guest" network.

Dining

For lunch, the University Memorial Center is the closest option and hosts several fast food franchises in addition to The Alferd Packer Restaurant & Grill. (Salads and sandwiches are also available at the Pekoe coffee shop across the street from the workshop site.) There are more options on The Hill on the other side of Broadway, and many classier places for dinner in downtown Boulder centered around Pearl St., about a mile north of the workshop site.

A self-paid group dinner will be held Friday evening at the Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse, a Boulder icon built in Tajikistan.
