`Towards the field theory of `Standard Model' D-brane worlds' D-brane worlds have shown to be able to accommodate (extensions of) the Standard Model spectrum. To firmly establish the existence of Standard Model vacua in intersecting D-brane configurations, it is, however, necessary to also match the low-energy effective couplings. In this talk, I will briefly review the construction of intersecting D-brane vacua and matter spectra and then proceed to discuss the gauge and Yukawa couplings derived from string perturbation theory.
