'Supergravity solutions: A guide for the lazy' If I gave you some theory of my choosing and asked you to find me a solution, a naive thing to do would be to write down some equations of motion (long) and try to solve them (hard). A much more interesting and fruitful approach would be to try to find some duality between the original theory and something simpler which you know how to solve: this is the technique we\u2019ll explore in the context of supergravity. In particular, we\u2019ll see how dimensional reduction can be used to generate such maps, and therefore allow us to find solutions to our favourite supergravity theories which it would have been difficult to obtain otherwise. We'll also consider some of the nice geometrical structures that arise naturally from this technique.
