`One loop renormalization of QCD in the maximal abelian gauge (MAG)' Abstract: We study the structure of QCD in the maximal abelian gauge (MAG), a gauge where centre gluons are treated separately from the off-diagonal ones. Providing the one loop analysis of QCD in this gauge at the symmetric subtraction point of the vertex function allows for the MAG to be studied in both the MSbar and MOM schemes, the latter being the preferred scheme for the lattice. We relate the coupling constant in both schemes, providing a coupling constant mapping for one loop in the MAG.
