`Phenomenological Study of the Standard-Like` Abstract: After a brief introduction to the free-fermionic construction highlighting only the key ideas, we consider the Standard-Like model. There are several ways of breaking the SO(10) symmetry to obtain the Standard-Like model but we restrict our attention to a particular set of basis vectors which is based on the symmetric heterotic string models. This was covered in the project that I worked on with Hasan. We will finish off by looking at the project I have been given descending from the string scale down to the low-energy scale. One part of the project, as we will see is the computation of the Higgs potential and mass matrices based on the superpotential. The second part of the project is still being looked at which is to compute the one-loop RGEs for Yukawa couplings, trilinear scalar couplings and scalar masses following the paper by Fabio Zwirner et al.
